Zoo Camp
Zoo camp 2008
We went to the zoo on 5th November to 6th November. We stayed in school till 12.30pm and we went to eat at 12.30pm, leaving Donavan and Deborah behind. We came back to the IBC after lunch ar 1pm and we played before we sat down to wait for the excursion buses to come. After a few minutes, the buses came and Ming Hui, Wan Qi, Pui yng, Felicia, me and alot of other girls sat with Mr Lee's class. That class is horrible, let me tell you. The bus driver on a "Mr Bean" comedy CD show to entertain us and we laughed till our stomach ache. Finally, after what seems like such a long time, we reached the zoo and we had a really hard time finding our belongings as the kind bus driver wanted to make us uncomfortable without our backpack when we sit in the bus so he kept it in the storage at the bottom of the bus. Back to where I was, we took our bags and we waited for the others to carry their bags. Then, we sat at the main hall of the zoo, the ticket counter area, to wait for further instructions. Then, the zoo instructor, or whatever you call it, told us who is going to guide which group. I am in the "Omar" group, which means a name of a white tiger. Pur tour guide is a lady called, "Jules" and she is totally nice. Then, we went to the "Auditorium" and the tour brief conducted by Miss Maggie is really fun. She let us see the bunny, guinea pig, hedgehog and alot of other animals and I took photo of them! =D I am going to post the pictures of the animals soon, but not now, it's already 11pm. Well, after that, we went to... eat? I think it's teabreak. Then after, we went for the zoo tour! After that, we came back and our legs were aching... we ate teriyaki chicken and nuggets with rice! It was FANTASTIC AND FABULOUS! We then took our towel and showering stuff to the toilets... The boys shower first as those wolves (the boys), ate very fast. They had only 3 minutes to shower since Mrs Low was chasing them and they actually shared, like 2 people to a cubicle!!! It's so small (the cubicle) and have only one shower, now need to supply 2 people at the same time, it will take longer... But Mrs Low still chased them up and out. After the boys shower, me, Pui Yng, Felicia, Wan Qi, Ming Hui and Shu Yan went to bathe. Ming Hui, Wan Qi, Pui Yng and I were lucky, Mrs Low wasn't there so we had a cubicle each while Shu Yan and Felicia shared one as they went to the girls' toilet but me and the rest were in the boys' toilet. I was still dressing myself up when I heard boys lamenting and complaining and grumbling outside. Fortunately, the girls had about 4 to 5 minutes to shower. After that, I was the first girl of P6-ADV to enter the Auditorium and the boys were like, "Is that Vivian??" Even if I look THAT hideous, you don't have to over-react right? Then the rest started to fill up the place. We then went to the Night Safari to have more fun and we first had a tram ride around the Night Safari with a sweet lady with a sweet voice telling us where and what the various animals we passed by are. Once, she said, "Look closer, and closer and closer..." When we did, she suddenly said, "and you see no animals." All of us bursted out laughing and we had lots of fun throughout the journey. We then proceeded to the Amphi-theatre and we watched the nocturnal animals show. Before the show started, a crazy and TOO enthusiastic caucasian wanted the spectators (us and other visitors) to make a stupid arm wave... Like we were idiotic fools. Then, the ranger told Mrs Low to tell us not to follow the caucasian's orders as the show was going to start. The performing animals were super cute! The otter even taught us (humans) how to dispose rubbish..Then, after a long and tiring day, we went back to the Auditorium and ate supper... (a miserable biscuit and a packet of milk..) and people grab their pyjamas and toothbrush stuff to the toilet to clean up. Then, as it was raning and we couldn't pitch the tents, we had the sleep at a pavilion which is near a lake... and while walking there, I lost my comb! =( And we spread our canvases and we placed our sleeping bags on top. We chatted and played till 12am and after a few moments, everyone settled down to sleep... Then, I could not sleep. Charis and her friends were chatting and playing a fool.... and the floor was too hard so I could not sleep too. I only slept a little bit... I woke up at every hour intervals... and I see teachers petrolling the area... I slept and woke at 6am the next morning and me and the rest of my group went with me to the toilet to wash up our faces. I was tying up my hair and Mrs Low was like, "Ming Hui?! Your hair is so curly?!" I laughed to myself and Mrs Low came over to me and asked, " How did you sleep? Did you sleep well, sweetie?" I complained that I had very little sleep and the floor was too hard.. She just smiled and went off, saying sleeping a little is better than not sleeping at all. Then. Miss Maggie came to talk to us and blah blah, and we went back to the Auditorium (very far) to get our stuff to brush our teeth and change into a new set of PE attire. We ate harsh brown, sandwiches and scarmbled eggs. fattening. We set off the the animal hospital... Kind of boring though, and a parrot, "Sergeant Pepper" was squawking noisily... We then walk and walk and walk to "Creepy Crawlies" and we went into the butterfly den to admire them. I was afraid at first but after a while, I wanted to play with the butterflies, but we got to go already... the butterflies were beautiful!!! Then, we went to the spiders and ALOT of insects section to see them.. Most are pretty gross-looking but still, very interesting, much more interesting than the "Animal Hospital". Stick insects and stuff like that. We then went back to the Auditorium for a "KFC" lunch and I only ate the drumstick and some pieces of the ribs.... I didn't eat the marsh potatoe alot and I drank a little bit of "Pepsi". We then packed our bags and went to the main hall again. ( the ticket counter) We put down our bags and went to the souvenir shop and there were clothes, toys, glow-in-the-dark stuff and toys. I bought a penguin for Wan Qi (her birthday), a polar bear for me and a snow leopard for my brother. I wanted to buy for Donavan and Deborah but I forgot... =.= Aw man.. We then went back to school after we paid for the souvenirs and said our goodbyes to our tour guides and took the buses back to Rosyth School. Some of us went home while some called our parents and I called, stood at the guard post and waited for a VERY long time before my father came. That's all for now, I still feel sore all over. I owe you all animal photos, I will post them next time, it's already 11.30pm now. I have to go pack the prizes for the jumble sale tomorrow! I am so excited!!! Bye! =D
PS: Come and visit our game and craft stalls!!! =)
