Today... We went to school for the DNA Life Science programme. At first I was searching for Yan Yi, but in the end she was outside the hall.... Hmm, then at around 7.56am, we went in and I sat down together with Valecia and she kept groaning that her mouth is pain cause she just got braces, lols. Then Valarie gave the front row a box of chocolates from Sidney, Australia, to pass down and each person will get a chocolate. I chose the "mars" chocolate ball, and kept it. (: Then Bei Ting passed me a plastic bag, she said it's from Valarie, and when I opened it... There was a big koala bear and keychaine koala bear inside, so cute luhs! Thank you valarie!
Then after a short clip on DNA and chromosomes, we went to the lab with Mrs Chum and she thought us to make the DNA model out of gummy bears and gummy worms. While making, Yan Yi and I were like smelling it and saying that we want to eat it, but in the end we didn't. The gummies were so sticking when we had to push it into the toothpick... And we put it into a ziplock bag... lol, as if I'm going to keep it. Then we learned to extract DNA genes from a strawberry. We put some buffer solution to mix with the strawberry juice... then we filter it, the residue looked so yucky. Then we put in ethanol and waited for the DNA to float up. Then we got a little bottle to bring some DNA of strawberry home for remembrance. We also tried making strawberry lip balm. The cocoa butter look to yummy.. but when put together with beewax and olive oil.. it look kinda gross. Then we burned the beaker to melt the solids, and then we added strawberry juice inside, and after we poured into the container and left it to dry... it's smooth and oily after it dried. But I think I died a little on the inside when I washed the lip balm liquid container.. it's so oily. But I used soap and it's okay already...
Then, we went to compass point, me, Beatrice, Xin Yi, Yan Yi, Marlene, Ning Zhen and Sharmaine. We were like stalking Li Yun senior and her friends, lol! Her expression was so funny when we followed her other friend instead of her and her guy friend. Hmm.. then we decided to eat in KFC, and after a filling meal, we went to Popular to buy some art materials. Then we planned to go to Mini Toons, but me, the stupid girl, walked to Action City in a daze and didn't even realize I was walking into Action City even when the rest shouted to me and pointed at the other side, lols. I became emo ever since I realized no string practise for 5 days... Then... we shopped in Mini Toons before deciding to go to Mr Bean to buy food to drink/eat before we walked back to school.
In school, we drew for fun and I tried my new materials, charcoal pencils are so cool... Then at around 2.20pm, Sharmaine and I left because it started raining, and we walked through the rain with Beatrice too, lols. Then we took 156 home, haha... That's for today.. Tomorrow, I'm going out with Beatrice, Yan Yi and Sharmaine.... That's all for now.. bye..
